ABOUT ME
Hi, everyone! Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Mia Carroll. I am 22 years old and was born and raised in Thomasville, Ga. I recently graduated from Georgia Southern University with my bachelors in Interior Design. I also recently moved to Greenville, SC. I enjoy reading, traveling, hiking, cooking, journaling, and organizing. I currently have a small business where I organize people’s homes. I have always been a very organized person and I love helping others. I combined these two passions together to create my business. I organize anything and everything from closets to pantries, kitchens, bedrooms, attics, materials closet, jewelry studios, etc.
Like many others, I did not know for a long time what I wanted to with my life. I had so many interests and couldn’t pick just one to stay in for the rest of my life. Choosing a major was very difficult for me. Luckily, when I came to Georgia Southern and found the Interior Design Program, I knew it was the right choice for me. Not only was Interior Design one of my passions, but there is so much more to it than I thought, and so many different job opportunities within it.
In my interior design classes, I have learned so much and have acquired so many skills. My interior design skills include hand drawing and rendering, hand drafting, creating construction documents, space planning, the ability to use technological programs such as SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, etc. Additionally, I was the Visual Coordinator officer for the Interior Design Association at Georgia Southern. My job was to create t-shirts, sweatshirts, stickers, posters, flyers, etc. Anything that was visual and could be used to promote the Interior Design Association, I designed it.
My goals for the future are to continue learning and growing as a designer. As well as completing and passing the NCIDQ exam to become an NCIDQ certified designer.
