Materials Board (5 pts)
For this project, we had the choice to either create a materials board, or a 3D model. I chose a materials board to better display my choices of materials, to envision them together in the space. A materials board is one of the most important items to present to a client so they can see and touch samples of the actual fabrics, paints, floorings, laminates, etc.
For my materials, I made sure to have fabrics that had high double rubs and were easy to clean and take care of, so that the client does not have to worry about the quality of the materials. I think that the materials I chose complement one another very well and that there is a good balance between light and dark, soft and hard, and all of the different textures. Further, I used repetition by having the diamond shape being repeated throughout the space with the use of the white diamond backsplash, and the diamond tudor windows. In conclusion, I feel that I have executed this project very well, and that the thoughts behind the final project were conveyed through each page of the construction documents and the materials board.
